Dr. Giridhar, the President, is a Psychiatrist with specialized training from NIMHANS and an extensive 28-year background in clinical practice. Fueled by both his concern for the lack of mental health facilities in smaller towns and villages and his profound passion for farming and nature, he made a deliberate move to Sirsi in the Uttara Kannada district of Karnataka, India. Over the past two decades, he has been dedicatedly providing mental health services to people from all walks of life, extending his support even to the underprivileged through Government hospitals.
His commitment to regular visits to nearby towns ensures ongoing follow-up and treatment for daily wage laborers, making mental health care more accessible to those who need it. Recognized for his exemplary efforts, Dr. Giridhar is a recipient of the Ratan Tata Memorial Trust fellowship, focusing on enhancing awareness about depression and its treatment, especially among women. Additionally, he serves as an honorary psychiatrist in consultation for a Geriatric Home in Sirsi.
As the Founder and current President of Prashanti Foundation, he oversees a rehabilitation center catering to individuals with various disabilities for the past 17 years. This innovative social enterprise has successfully implemented a sustainable approach to disability care.
Beyond his clinical endeavors, Dr. Giridhar actively participates in a team dedicated to improving the quality of learning for children and adolescents. He firmly believes in providing an enriching socio-emotional environment, particularly for children from less privileged backgrounds, recognizing its pivotal role in fostering overall community well-being.
